It's confusing as both men lived in the vicinity of Skinframe Creek, Caldwell County. Researchers have been mixing the two for years.

This John Flint 1765-1817 was English or American born, but we don't know which and we have no marriage records either. He had a son (or other relative) Benjamin W. Flint who took over his land for taxes in 1817 following his death. This is clear in the Caldwell County tax lists 1816-1817. But we can't find a deed or will or administrative bond showing transfer and a potential relationship.

Ben W was my 3rd great-grandfather and well documented.
We know Benjamin was buying land in Caldwell County on his own in 1815.
The Probate records are available online I think?
Thanks again for any help.
Eli Flinthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05766380409544537105noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7998509848120209824.post-33261272873741116382020-04-21T12:56:36.715-05:002020-04-21T12:56:36.715-05:00The will of John Flint (Will Book A, page 333) lis...The will of John Flint (Will Book A, page 333) lists his wife Elizabeth, friend Lewis C.K. Hamilton, children Thomas Flint, Jesse C Flint, Elizabeth Briant, Deborah, Margaret, Margaret, Hannah, William, John Flint, Visy, Terresay, Elisa. It is confusing as he mentions "the first seven" and then "the last four." The Caldwell County Historical Society has a transcription of the first Will book for sale. You might contact them for availability and price. Good luck. I believe this was my 4th great-grandfather. I’ve seen a transcription of the Inventory but not the Will, following his 1817 death...am curious if it references Benjamin W. as heir?
Do you have any additional information about John’s place of birth, wife, children, father, etc.?

Best regards,
Eli FlintFlinthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05766380409544537105noreply@blogger.com
