The Kentucky death certificate of Joe Duncan lists his parents as Rice Duncan and -- Newcom. Crittenden County marriage records show that R.H. Duncan married Miss Sarah A. Newcomb 3 November 1874. Marriage records also show that R.H. Duncan married Miss Ida A. Brantley 13 December 1887 and they appear together on the 1900 Crittenden County census.

    Sarah Alice NEWCOM was the daughter of Dudley NEWCOM and Mary Adaline KEMP.
