This ad appeared in The
Tennessean newspaper of Nashville,
Tennessee during the summer of 1848. Note that it states there was an elegant
hotel and 20 cottages for guests who came to take the medicinal waters. At first I
thought this was an early version of the Crittenden Springs, but the Crittenden Springs resort dated from the late 1880s and I believe it was in a different location. Do you have any thoughts on the White Sulphur
Springs?
