Charles McMican and Miss Mattie J. Gass married 8 March 1894 in Crittenden County. [1] The bride was the daughter of R.B. Gass. [2]  Mattie's obituary appears in the local newspaper slightly more than a year after her marriage. She had been ill a few weeks and left a husband and little child.[3]

Charles McMican married secondly to Miss Viola Claghorn.[4] Following her death, he married Sallie E. Fry in 1901.[5]

Charles McMican's life was cut short in April 1907 when he was shot and "mortally wounded" by Louis Sliger after McMican had shot Sliger.[6]  "The unfortunate affair is deplored by every one as both men have many friends and stood well in their respective neighborhoods ..." [7]

Charles McMican's burial occurred at McMican Cemetery on Fords Ferry Road near Crooked Creek in Crittenden County.

According to his death certificate, James Henry McMican was born 6 August 1860 Crittenden County and was the son of Jesse B. McMican. Rebecca McMican's death certificate shows her birthplace as Crittenden County and her maiden name was Allison. She died 16 February 1926 in Caldwell County, Kentucky.

James H. McMican and Miss Rebecca Allison married in Crittenden County 9 March 1881.

Rebecca A. Arflack was born in Mississippi and was the daughter of William Franklin McMican and Nancy A. Ashley, according to Rebecca's death certificate.  The Wm. F. McMican family is enumerated on the 1860 Attala County, Mississippi census. By 1870, they had moved to Union County, Kentucky.

George W. Arflack, husband of Rebecca A. McMican, was born 14 August 1846 in Wilson County, Tennessee and died 31 January 1917, according to his death certificate, which also states he is buried in Crooked Creek Cemetery.

Robert L. Thurmond married Miss Parthenia Carrick 24 September 1857 at the home of James Carrick. Crittenden County Vital Statistics (Marriages) show that Parthenia Carrick was born in Livingston County, Kentucky.
