Tombstone Tuesday - Elizabeth Harman

Buried Old Fredonia Cemetery, Caldwell County, Kentucky. Tombstone photographed 15 March 2013. This tombstone style is of sandstone and was very popular during the 1830s and 1840s in this part of western Kentucky.
 
Henry A. Harman obtained a marriage bond to marry Elizabeth M. Leeper 31 October 1831 in Caldwell County. Surety for the marriage bond was John C. Leeper.

John and Charlotte Lowry [sic] are listed as children in the will of James Lowry in Caldwell County Will Book B, page 155.

John Lowery married Grace Ordway 22 September 1825 Caldwell County.

He provides the following translation of the Latin inscription: "Goodbye, friends and family. May you be lucky [happy?]." Note the Masonic symbol inthe middle of the tombstone. Allen L. Pemberton married Mary A. Stewart, daughter of Dr. Washington Stewart, 16 June 1831 Livingston County, Kentucky. Dr. Pemberton and Dr. Stewart were in medical practice together in the Centreville area.
