Through the years, I bought a number of western Kentucky postcards on eBay. This one was tucked away and I just re-found it recently.

Brenda, Thank you for posting this photo. My great grandfather Cochran managed this hotel at one time (1880s I believe) but I had never seen a photo. Do I remember correctly that the hotel burned? I'm away from home or I would look up the details in my files.

According to a short write up I got in that County a few eyars back, the hotel was repotred to have been torn down and part of the lumber used to build a house. If I learn otherwise I will post at a later tiem.

I was born in 1945. My father bought this farm in 1947 and I was raised there. They tore most of the hotel down but left enough for a single dwelling. The living & dining rooms were supposedly the lobby of the hotel. It is in horrible shape today. My dad had 3 or 4 wells drilled at different sites and every one was sulfer. He was killed on the farm in 1961 and they finally got county water there @5 yrs ago. It breaks my heart to see it. We still own the farm today. The KAS & Preservation Kentucky meet here on the 21st and I have the original map of what the hotel was to grow into. So glad to see there are still people interested in this.
