Major William Carter Love (one of those killed by the Harpes) was my 5th great-grandfather. His wife, Esther Calhoun Love, is buried in Piney Fork Cemetery, Crittenden County, KY, and her headstone reads "My husband Wm Love was killed by the Harps Aug 1799." (Photos of original and reproduced headstone are on Findagrave.)

I stumbled across your story by mistake when looking up info on the Harpe brothers. They also killed my 7th great in 1779 at age 39. He had taken a team of horses and a wagon to the Ohio River for wok and the Harpes got him. He was an immigrant from Ireland and had a wife and five small children. His name was, John Duffy.
p.s. His name was "John Tully" Not "Duffy": Aug 31, 1799 murdered John Tully in Stockton Valley
