Miss M.C. Sullenger
married J.H. Bettis 20 April 1890 at W.B. Sullinger's in Crittenden County.[1]
According to
her death certificate, Mary Catherine Bettis was born 24 October 1861 in
Kentucky and died 2 December 1928 in Blooming Rose Pct, Crittenden County. Her
parents were listed as Tom Dutch Sullenger and Elizabeth Porter, both born in
Kentucky. The informant for this information was J.H. Bettis.[2]
J.H. Bettis
wrote his last will and testament 21 December 1936. At that time he was living
in Tolu, Crittenden County. After the payment of his debts, he wanted his wife,
Effie Bettis, and his son, Ebb Bettis, to each have one-half of his estate.
Mrs. Effie Bettis was to be executrix.
The will was recorded in county court 12 February 1942. According to the 1900 census, J.H. Bettis was
born in March 1857.[3]
J.H. Bettis remarried following the death of Mary C. Bettis.
