According to her death certificate, Mary E. Nickels was born in Lyon County, Kentucky and was the daughter of Thomas Watkins. She died in Paducah, Kentucky.
The 1910 Livingston County census shows Mary E. Nickels living in the household of her sister, Sarah Bush, widow of Capt. J.W. Bush, in Smithland.

Thank you for this information. Mary E. and Sarah are found in the Washington Watkins household on the 1850 census, while Mary E.'s death certificate identifies her father as Thos. Watkins. Apparently the informant for the death certificate was wrong? Have you found a marriage for Mary E. Watkins and Frank Nickels?
